Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Aurora mobile application and website at auroraapp.fi (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Aurora Wealth Oy ("Aurora", "we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in Finland.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

To use the Service, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
• Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable law

The Service is currently intended for users in Finland and the European Economic Area.

3. Your Account

3.1 Account Creation

You may create an account using Apple Sign In or Google Sign In. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

3.2 Account Accuracy

You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Do not impersonate any person or use a name you are not authorised to use.

3.3 Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

4. The Service

4.1 What Aurora Does

Aurora is a personal financial management tool. It connects to your bank accounts (with your explicit consent) via licensed account information services under the Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2), retrieves your transaction history and balances, and presents insights and analysis to help you understand your finances.

4.2 Read-Only Access

Aurora accesses your bank data in read-only mode. We cannot and will not initiate payments, transfers, or any transactions on your behalf.

4.4 Data Accuracy

We strive to display accurate financial data, but we rely on data provided by your bank and third-party services. We cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data shown in the app.

5. Bank Connectivity

5.1 Your Consent

Connecting your bank account is entirely optional and requires your explicit consent. You may disconnect your bank account at any time through the app settings.

5.2 Third-Party AISP

Bank connectivity is provided through a licensed Account Information Service Provider (AISP) operating under PSD2. By connecting your bank, you also agree to that provider's terms and conditions.

5.3 Your Bank's Terms

Your use of bank connectivity must also comply with your bank's terms of service. Aurora is not responsible for any restrictions your bank may impose.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use the Service to transmit malware, spam, or harmful content
• Interfere with the operation of the Service or other users' access to it
• Scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Service by automated means

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Property

The Service, including its design, code, content, trademarks, and logos, is owned by Aurora Wealth Oy and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership rights.

7.2 Your Data

You retain ownership of your personal and financial data. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to process your data solely to provide and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Fees and Subscription

The Service may offer free and paid tiers. Subscription terms, pricing, and billing details will be presented clearly before any charges are made. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AURORA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure; that any data displayed will be accurate or complete; or that the Service will meet your specific requirements.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AURORA WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €50, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under Finnish consumer protection law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Aurora Wealth Oy and its directors, officers, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Helsinki, Finland.

If you are a consumer, you also have the right to refer disputes to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariitalautakunta.fi).
